External Rotation
The External Shoulder Rotation is an exercise for the rotator cuff, which is a collection of four muscles around your shoulder joint.
This exercise is part of the pre-therapy philosophy at Activelab. Pre-therapy is the idea of using the tools of physical therapy for prevention, before you are in pain.
We believe that external rotation exercises may help prevent frozen shoulder syndrome. Frozen shoulder is a painful condition in which, as the name suggests, and person loses their range of movement in the shoulder. It primarily affects ladies between forty and sixty years. It primarily affects the non-dominant arm, in other words the arm that is less active.
There is evidence that a lack of movement and weakening of the muscles, ligaments, and tendons of the shoulder increase the risk of frozen shoulder.
We do this exercise seated in a chair this increases your proprioception of the movement of your shoulder.
