Standing Hip Thruster

This exercise has a story. A few years ago, barbell hip thrusters were very popular among young ladies in the gyms. In the barbell hip thruster, you sit on the floor and push up an olympic bar with your hips. Many ladies loved this exercise because it was highly effective at developing the glutes. However, barbell hip thrusters have faded in popularity. There are probably two reasons for this: One is that this exercise takes up a lot of real estate on the gym floor, so gym owners were not big fans of the exercise. As second reason is that barbell hip thrusters are very uncomfortable.

At Activelab, we offer a standing version of hip thrusters.. This exercise is done with a cable system.

Basically, this is a squat, but the direction of the force is horizontal. Some experts believe that this kind of horizontal force generation translates into faster spring speed.

We make this exercise an aerobic exercise by performing it continuously for five or more minutes.
